The company that sells the special grilling bricks „Grill Bill“ hasn’t been using Facebook that much recently. The amount of fans on their Facebook fanpage was less than 40 before the competition.
It may seem that there is no big potential with this number. However, our Wheel of Fortune application showed the opposite.
The main goals was to sell all the brick and increase the awareness of this grilling technology.
We launched the competition directly on the Facebook page in a special application bookmark – the Wheel of Fortune with 240 prizes.
Prices were 70%, 50% and 30% discount on the grill Grill Bill bricks, a favourite product for the summer barbecues.

The preview of the Wheel of Fortune
The only investment in the contest was well targeted advertisment on Facebook.
At the beginning of the advertisment the cost for the click on the boosted post with the application link was $0.08 but after adjusting and better targeting we got to $0.031 per click.
Total outlay for the Facebook advertisment was $183.

How the boosted post looks on Facebook
Clicking on this post takes the users right to the application tab, where they can try their luck and spin the wheel where they win one of the main prizes or the extra spin or they win nothing.
The wheel was spun by 2786 users who spun the wheel 4 427 times!
We distributed all the 240 prizes in just five days.

The results of the Wheel
We attracted the attention of the target group.
To all the competitors who didn’t win we sent an email campaign, where we offered them a 30% discount for the bricks purchase.
The outcome of this campaign was 107 purchases (161 packs) for the total amount of $970
The average purchase of the e-shop’s customers is 1,5 packs of the grilling bricks. Thanks to this campaign the average was 2,5 and attracted not only the current customers but also the new ones where their return to the shop is more likely because of the bricks‘ popularity.
There were purchases even from the new customers who didn’t win any of the discount coupons.

“We were pleasantly surprised that even though we practically never used Facebook that much before setting up the competition, the event was a huge success. Not only that we have fulfilled all the goals that we set, but we also know that it was an excellent investment for the future. We will definitely continue to benefit from competitions. “
– James Kořenek / owner of the company – grilovacicihly.cz

Primary goal was to engage the actual fans, attract the attention of potential new ones and increase the sales.
For the company who works with photos, our application „Photo Contest“ on the SocialSprinters platform was the clear choice. The contestants upload their photos right into the application and they need to get the most votes until the last minute to get the best rank in the competition. In this case, Foto Morava made 6 main prizes for the first six photos with most votes. They were rewarded with their service coupons.

Even though the competition took place only for 22 days, it had a huge success. A lot more users got engaged to the contest than their previous photo contest that wasn’t organised through our app. The company experienced an increase of purchases these days. The winners often made the bigger purchases than the values of the coupons were.

“Our company mainly deals with photo processing. The photo contest is natural entertainment for our customers. The possibility to use the application moved us on a higher level. In our last competition the amount of competitors rapidly increased thanks to you app. A little lack of this app is that often win the photos with most votes but they are not actually the best ones. But that’s why we also made a temporary „jury“ to choose the best photos independently of likes.”

]]>What‘s behind the sales spike and how much it cost?
Let’s boost the summer sales. In July and August, people vacate. They pack up in a hurry and postpone anything that can be delayed. Shopping for pet food comes last. Why not to try capitalizing on that? Another part of the mission was to advertise Best Breeder, the private brand of hypoallergenic pellets made in the UK.
If there‘s one thing people aren‘t tired of doing even during the hottest summer days, it‘s taking pictures. That‘s why KRMÍM KVALITNĚ organized a photo contest called the Summer Banquet. Out of the top 100 photos based on votes, 10 photographs were selected and rewarded. The winners took home 26-pound bags of Best Breeder Grain Free pet food for either cats or dogs. The following banquets probably lasted longer than all-summer-long.

What was the contest platform?
Krmím Kvalitně went for the SocialSprinters application. Not a suprise. The contest app had already been tested by the company prior to Christmas 2015. As it encourages further sharing both by contestants and voters, the reach of the contest app is virtually unlimited. Its avalanche-spread function helped to attract a respectable total of 2013 photographs. Furthermore, the photo contest gathered a contact database of 21 199 e-mail addresses. All of them were used for another campaign.
That‘s why picking the platform for the summer contest was a no-brainer and the SocialSprinters application paid off once again.

See how they advertised the competition?
The examples below show that throughout the contest, the company targeted various groups of clients with promotional posts. The boost was well worth it, and total costs never exceeded $580.

After the end of the competition the company started with remarketing on newly collected lead and started gaining new customers.

“In 2015, we changed our approach to marketing. We stopped relying only on customers from search engines or personal contacts and engaged online activities. And things began to happen. At the end of August 2016 the sales increased by more than 300%! An important way to help and online course Tomas Muzik and also SocialSprinters applications, “says Managing Director Paul Stein.

Firo Tour is one of the largest czech travel agencies who’s been on the market since 1990. Firo Tour permanently monitors trends and travelling development and opens new destinations for the czech market. The company checks approximately 100.000 clients every year. The biggest part are the residental tours, where Cyprus, Greece, Portugal, Spain and Italy dominates.
Firo also prepared a special photocontest for the summer.
Let’s look how Firo organized this photocontest.
Firo wanted to increase the number of fans on their Facebook page and entertain their actual fans. It made sense that in the middle of the summer holidays the people could send photos from their vacation. They only needed to find the app that will allow to upload photos and vote for the best photo.
It was important to find the solution that not only allows the voting but also allows the admin of the app to be able to choose the best photo on his own to eventually eliminate the „like gangs“. SocialSprinters Photocontest application was the best choice to make.
Firo Tour prepared a photocontest fast and simple. The users were challenged to upload the best photos from their vacation to get votes from their friends or other visitors. The photo with the most votes could win a free trip to Spain for 2 people and other discount vouchers.
„We rate the preparation and functionality of the app very positive. The setting didn’t take much time and was very easy and intuitive. Even the less experienced user can handle the launching process.”

Logically even the app promoting takes place on Facebook. Three promoting posts were used which redirected right into the contest application on Facebook.
The most successful was the post where the prize was mentionted. Not only the reach of this post, but also the number of likes and comments.
Total investment in Facebook advertising was only $260 and reached 229,986 users, 621 responses to post, 131 comments and 131 shares.

“Although our fans on Facebook page gain substantially spontaneously, and in the past we did a campaign focused on gaining new fans page. These PPC campaigns were successful, but did not reach such a response and engagement as this competition.
We were very surprised at how low the cost can organize a nice and functional competition mainly positive response from fans. A big plus is intuitive environment in which the application is set up and adapts to their needs. Certainly in the future by an application we will use again. “- Ing. Dusan Smoljak, Project Manager of MarketUP s.r.o.

SpokojenýPes.cz is one of the biggest Czech e-shops offering a large variety of animal supplies and accessories. Food for all kinds of pets, toys, leashes, cages and aquariums, they have it all. Most importantly, they enjoy a loyal client base worthy of reward.
To reward customers for their yearlong loyalty, but also to engage them at Christmas. Not only would such holiday inspiration cement the loyalty of the current clients; it may attract the new ones and serve as an effective brand-building tool. The only question was, how to delight and entertain the pet owners in the weeks leading up to Christmas?
Pet owners love to take and share pics of their animal comrades, so the photo contest app based on the SocialSprinters platform came as a natural choice. Expectations weren‘t exactly modest, but the projected number of participants proved to be way too low as the actual reality crushed the projection into pieces.
„We hoped to attract approximately 1000 new fans during the 2 weeks of the competition. In the end, the number of new followers went over 2000.“ -Tomáš Haškovec/marketing manager – Spokojenypes.cz
Photo contest not only attracted large number of new fans. During the competition, Spokojenypes.cz also noticed a 15% increase in orders that came directly from Facebook. All the contest participants, be it competitors or voters, were retargeted. Not to forget, the newly collected e-mail database proved to be a useful tool for the following campaign.
This is how they gained momentum: A couple of promotional posts to advertise the competition

During the contest, SpokojenyPes.cz acquired a total of 18.620 e-mails. Quite a database! And far from futile. It‘s now being utilized to retarget contestants and voters in the second wave of campaign, as shown in the example below.
“Apps from Social Sprinters evaluate very positively. Very interesting is the price/performance ratio and speed of deployment of the application. From our side we were only required creativity and basic settings + deployment on site. For internal development of this application will take much more time and I dare saying that it was also considerably more expensive. Administration is intuitive and a common user has no problem setting up and running the application in a matter of a few tens of minutes. “
]]>In this case it was clear. With Enligh Around the World in 80 Days is an online language course for anyone who wants to open an imaginary door to all corners of our planet.
The course leader is the native speaker Jonathan who has more than 20 years of teaching english experience. He’s had more than 1.000 students so far. No doubt about the quality of his services. How the course looks can everyone find out by registrating to the free lessons. Thanks to that you have an option to try the course before you actually buy it.
The price of the course is $95.
Instead of winning the whole course for free or other less valuable prizes that would be just the outlay, it was decided that the prizes will be the certain % of discounts. The biggest prize was 50% discount for the course.
It was clear from the beginning that some of the contest apps from SocialSprinters will be used because it’s very easy to set them up and operate them. The next advantage is that you can put the Facebook pixel in.
The contest will be useless without the users, so think about where exactly you can reach your customers.
In this case the users could find out about the contest from these sources:
• Facebook post which redirected right into the contest app
• Paid Facebook advertisment
• E-mail invitation
Those who wanted to spin the wheel just clicked on one of the sources, autorized the application and spun the wheel. Depending on where the wheel stopped, they instantly won something or got another extra spins. (By sharing or entering their e-mail). In the worst case they could just try the wheel again the next day.
If someone won, the e-mail with the 50% discount link for the course was sent immediately.
The Wheel of Fortune contest that was giving away 503 prizes (50% discount for the course) was attended by 327 contestants in total who spun the wheel for more than 400 times. They won 77 prizes in total.
Conversion ratio of sent winning email was 20% (15 orders, 13 immediately paid).

The money invested in the Facebook advertisment was $135 and the SocialSprinters application pack (that you can also try) was for $1 for the first 14 days.

“I would love to thank you for your apps and great advice that you give to all of us. Our company now has a turnover around $41.000 a month and around 40% of it comes from Facebook. Your services are priceless!”
We asked her to tell us more about how she uses our applications in practice. We received this e-mail from her. Perfectly wrote up case study that we just supplied with screenshots and few titles.
The first application for the contest that we tried was the Wheel of Fortune. We chose it for its simplicity. One simple click to spin the wheel and it’s done. Ideal for a test try. Because it was our first contest that we tried, we didn’t set any goals and we wondered how it would end. Everyone who spinned the wheel had a chance to win discount vouchers or free shipping for the e-shop products.
Thanks to that we were really motivated so we organized another contest. We found out that mothers that buy from us are interested in these contests.
We knew that we had something powerful in our hands with what we could speak to our actual and new customers and we just continued in creating another contests. The functions of the SocialSprinters apps are great, simple and fast. We were able to prepare everything in a while and when I wasn’t 100% sure about something, it was solved via e-mail in a few minutes.
The next contest was more coherent and matched exactly the concept of our company. Mothers the dressmakers like to share what they made for their little kids. We all know that women need these kind of emotions in their lives. They need respect, praise, recognition and inspiration. If you add a nice prize to this, the success is guaranteed.
The goal of the second contest that we tried was to get the photos of the products made of material that we sell. We realized that the photos of finished products are really important part of the sale. Not every customer has a fantasy that big so he could imagine what can be made of our material. We don’t have the time to prepare the final products for inspiration so now it’s the time when we need our customers’ helping hand.
The first contest – the wheel of fortune had 777 attendants. 129 of them won one of the discounts vouchers. The average price of orders is $36.

The photocontest accomplished its goal and brought us 106 photos of our customers’ finished products made from our materials. We added these photos to our products.

During the photocontest we recorded dozens maybe hundreds of questions like from what, how and where our customers made these things. Sales increased by 30% during these days. ($2450 extra a week)
3.050 users attended voting in the contest and left us their e-mail adresses which we use for communication with them.
We were very surprised that according to Google Analytics there was 15% increase of traffic by new customers, which is real high number in our scarce field and even the graph of traffic grew the same as the graph of sales.
At this moment 40% of sales comes from Facebook.
The number of orders increased even on our second shop unuo.cz where we sell finished products made from our cloth. Not all the mothers are dressmakers and thanks to sharing they found our finished products.

„I have to say that our page is one of the few happy, where the customers really go unforced to look at the products and show off their own organic. I perceive that as a gift because it’s hard to keep the customers in a “wakeful state” all the time. For example when the weather gets good and hot it’s hard to keep mothers at their machines, then the sales naturally decrease… but the SocialSprinters apps are miracle. They are perfect and we’re not going to give up on them!”
